BOMBAY SAPPHIRE CANVAS
All casesBombay Sapphire × Canvas — Bringing Belgian art and mixology together through film.
THE CONTEXT
Celebrating creativity through unexpected encounters
With Canvas Stir Creativity in Brussels, Bombay Sapphire invited Belgian artists to explore creativity through encounters with mixologists. The ambition was to bring two creative disciplines together and turn their exchange into content capable of expressing the campaign’s central idea: creativity emerges when different worlds meet. Our role was to capture these encounters through a series of immersive short films designed for digital audiences.
THE CHALLENGE
Turning a creative process into a compelling film
The strength of the concept lies in the interaction between two crafts: the artist’s visual language and the mixologist’s gestures, ingredients and interpretation. The challenge was to translate that process into film and make the connection between both disciplines tangible for the viewer. Rather than simply documenting the collaboration, the films needed to capture its rhythm, textures and details and give each encounter its own personality.
OUR RESPONSE
Two duos, two creative capsules
We developed two films around two distinct artist–mixologist collaborations. Hell’O met Yen Pham in a colourful encounter combining graphic expression, visual poetry and a gin cocktail inspired by Asian flavours. Sam Scarpulla joined Noa Van Ongevalle in a second collaboration where bold black lines met the precision and movement of mixology. Each capsule was built around the creative dialogue between both personalities, allowing the process itself to become the story.
ART & MIXOLOGY
Making two creative languages interact
The films focus on the parallels between artistic creation and cocktail making: composition, balance, gesture, colour, texture and experimentation. Close-ups of materials and ingredients alternate with the artists and mixologists at work, revealing how one discipline responds to the other. The result is a visual conversation in which artwork and cocktail gradually take shape together.
FILMMAKING
Capturing gesture, texture and atmosphere
The visual direction gives particular attention to materials, light, movement and the physical gestures behind each creation. The camera moves between details and wider moments of interaction, allowing the audience to experience both the precision of the craft and the energy of the encounter. Editing and rhythm were designed to preserve the character of each duo while creating a coherent series for Bombay Sapphire.
DIGITAL ROLLOUT
Content designed to travel across platforms
The capsules were developed for web and influencer use, with formats and durations adapted to digital consumption. Mobile-friendly framing and shorter extracts extended each film into social content while maintaining the visual identity and narrative of the original piece. The production therefore created a flexible set of assets capable of bringing the Stir Creativity concept to audiences beyond the initial encounter.
THE RESULT
Two films, two expressions of the same creative idea
The project resulted in two distinctive video capsules that make the encounter between Belgian art and mixology tangible. Together, they translate Bombay Sapphire’s Stir Creativity platform into visual stories where artistic expression, craftsmanship and brand content become part of the same experience.
