Belgium.be — Turning a complex digital issue into a clear and memorable campaign.

THE CONTEXT

Raising awareness without adding complexity

How can people recognise a bot and avoid falling into the trap? Belgium.be wanted to raise awareness around an increasingly present digital phenomenon, with a simple objective: help people identify automated behaviours more easily and understand the signals they should pay attention to. The challenge was to turn the subject into an accessible educational campaign capable of communicating the right reflexes quickly and effectively in both French and Dutch.

THE CHALLENGE

Making a technical subject immediately understandable

Talking about bots means addressing a digital subject that can quickly become technical. Yet an awareness campaign needs to work within seconds: capture attention, communicate the message and make the essential information easy to remember. The challenge was therefore to simplify without oversimplifying, building a narrative direct enough to be understood immediately while retaining the precision the subject required. This clarity also needed to remain consistent across different languages, durations and campaign formats.

OUR RESPONSE

A campaign designed from idea to deployment

We approached the project as a complete communication system, working across the entire process: strategic thinking, concept, script, production and distribution. Rather than accumulating explanations, we structured the campaign around simple, readable messages organised within a direct narrative. Every stage of the production process was driven by the same objective: make the subject easier to understand and turn information into a memorable message.

CONCEPT & NARRATIVE

Understand quickly. Remember what matters.

The script relies on a direct narrative and a rhythm designed to maintain attention. Each shot serves a specific purpose: introducing an idea, illustrating a behaviour or reinforcing a key message. This structure allows the story to move forward without overwhelming the viewer with unnecessary information. The creative concept therefore remains deliberately at the service of education: the form captures attention without ever competing with what needs to be understood.

PRODUCTION

A visual setup designed around the message

The campaign was shot in studio, allowing precise control over image, rhythm and sound. The art direction takes a deliberately understated approach, with a visual environment designed to support the messages rather than compete with them. Production and post-production then allowed the content to be adapted to different digital uses while maintaining a consistent identity.

FR/NL ADAPTATION & DISTRIBUTION

One message across languages and formats

The campaign was developed in French and Dutch, with versions adapted to different durations and communication formats. The content was then deployed over six weeks across official channels, with particular attention paid to consistency between versions. Beyond translation, the objective was to preserve the same clarity, rhythm and effectiveness of the message in both languages.

THE RESULT

A coherent campaign from education to activation

Belgium.be now has a campaign designed as one coherent system, from the formulation of the message through to its distribution. An approach in which strategy, narrative, production and adaptation work together to make a complex digital issue more accessible and easier to remember.
